Actor, Supporting – Heath Ledger
Among the various talented gentlemen nominated in the best supporting actor category are Josh Brolin for his performance in “Milk,” Robert Downey Jr. for his comedic genius in “Tropic Thunder,” Philip Seymour Hoffman in “Doubt,” and Michael Shannon in “Revolutionary Road.” But there is no competition to legendary actor Heath Ledger. His phenomenal performance in the epic film “The Dark Knight” quickly captivated the hearts and minds of millions of viewers around the world. Ledger’s intense portrayal of the infamous Joker clearly deserves the Academy Award as Best Supporting Actor.

REFLECTION: JONAS
May 20, 2008 · Leave a Comment
I love the Jonas Brothers, so i pretty much wrote this article off of the top of my head because I have alot of knowledge on the subject’s
I did have to look certain things up such as dates and so forth because I do not know all of them off of the top of my head but just about everything else was me. I really enjoyed writing this story because it helped me realize how even more special the boys really are.
They truly are something unique.
The Jonas Brothers have come a long way with their career and they are really thankful for their success and they actually appreciate their fans which is why so many teenage girls are smitten. I am proud to say that I am one of them and on the contrary to what people may think they are not untalented or homo’s and are probably more amazing than you could ever imagine.
They are an example to todays weak youth that falls into society’s trap of sex and drugs. The Jonas Brothers are an example that we don’t always need to do these things to develop a sense of importance or belonging. What I admire the most about the Jonas Brothers is that they wear purity rings and they plan to be pure until marriage, this is an example self respect and self worth that most teens do not have anymore.
The Jonas Brothers also know that this makes them ” different than everybody else who’s out there” and I believe that examples such as theirs should be held to the highest regards especially in todays society.
So even though you may think that I like them because their hot or cutie’s, your wrong. What I admire the most about The Jonas Brothers is the example that they try to convey to today’s teens.

Jonas Brothers official FINAL DRAFT

Jonas Brothers Final Draft
Among the list of famous boy bands there are the backstreet boys, NSYNC, 90 Degrees, the Hanson brothers, and LFO. The Jonas Brothers can now be added to this list and it’s not difficult to see why.
This boy band is made up of three super hot, jaw dropping brothers named Joe, Nick, and Kevin Jonas. Together the three have created the biggest phenomenon to hit this millennium since Britney Spears shaved her head. The American pop- rock band originated in Wyckoff, New Jersey, the brother’s hometown. All three brothers attended Eastern Christian High School in North Haledon, New Jersey. The band is now a phenomenon among young teenage girls and for some girls they have even become “a way of life”. The Jonas Brothers have released two albums; It’s about time in 2006, Jonas Brothers in 2007, and they will be releasing their third album A little bit longer in 2008.
The world is spinning round for the Jonas Brothers and there’s no sign of slowing down. The band originally began as a solo act with Nick Jonas taking center stage. Nick, the youngest brother of the three, was discovered at age 6 while singing at a barber shop, then he was presented to a professional show business manager and the rest is history. When Nick was eight he was already on Broadway in plays such as The Beauty and the Beast, The Sound of Music, A Christmas Carol, and Paper Mill Playhouse. However in early 2005, Steve Greenberg, Columbia Records’ new president, made a decision that would forever change the lives of Nick, Joe and Kevin. Steve Greenberg decided to meet with Nick and after hearing “Please Be Mine” a song on Nick’s album that featured his brothers Kevin and Joe, Greenberg decided to sign the three brothers as a group act.
Since then the Jonas Brothers have come a long way with chart topping albums and songs and not to mention those stellar good looks, the boys can’t complain. Throughout 2005 the brothers collaborated on several tours including Kelly Clarkson, Jesse McCartney, The Click Five, Aly & Aj, The Cheetah Girls, and fellow boy band, The Backstreet Boys. The Jonas Brothers first official single was released on December 27, 2005 and was named Mandy after a close family friend. Following that, in February 2006 was the release of Time for me to fly, featured in the Aquamarine soundtrack. However in August 2006, when their album, It’s about time was released, the brothers were considering changing labels and ultimately led to them being dropped by Columbia records in the early stages of 2007.
The Jonas Brothers were left without a label for quite some time but were eventually signed onto Hollywood Records in February 2007. Since then the Jonas Brothers have come a long way that has turned out in their favor . Their self-titled album ,Jonas Brothers , was released on August 7,2007 and it reached number five on theBillboard Top 200 in its first week. The brothers also kicked off their first tour When you look me in the eyes, on January 31,2008 in Tucson, Arizona.
The Jonas Brothers are currently in the midst of several big time projects including the release of the Disney Channel original movie Camp Rock, The Filming of J.O.N.A.S, The mini series called Living the Dream, The release of their Camp Rock soundtrack on June 17, 2008, and their new CD, A little bit longer. The Jonas Brothers will soon be kicking off their Burning Up Tour on July 4, 2008 in Toronto.
The Jonas Brothers are living the dream.

Final Craft: McCain
April 23, 2008 · Leave a Comment
With elections slowly crawling around the corner it is extremely important that voters
acknowledge as much as they possibly can about the next potential president.
John McCain is the Republican nominee for president in this years 2008 election which will be
held this November. John McCain has a phenomenal record of leadership and experience that
embodies his unfaltering lifetime commitment to service. John McCain was first elected to the
U.S. House of Representatives from Arizona in 1982. John McCain has been the driving force
behind the fight for reforming Washington, eliminating wasteful government spending, and
strengthening our nation’s armed forces. John McCain’s reform agenda to reduce federal spending
and lower taxes quickly elevated him to statewide office and he was elected to the United States
Senate in 1986, after serving two terms in the U.S. House. While in the Senate, McCain was
persistent in stating to Congress that they needed to put an end to loopholes for special interests
and fix the broken system in Washington. McCain felt that the system often allowed lobbyists
to waste tax payer money therefore earning him his reelection with nearly 77 percent of the vote.
John McCain comes from a family that deeply values duty, honor and service of country.
As the son and grandson of distinguished Navy admirals, John McCain had a similar path to
conquer. John attended college at the United States Naval Academy, and launched a 22-year
career as a naval aviator upon his graduation. He continued the McCain tradition of service to
country passed down to him from his father and grandfather when he asked to serve in the Vietnam War. On July 29 1967, John narrowly survived the first of many near-death experiences during his lifetime while preparing to take off on a bombing mission over North Vietnam from his ship, the USS Forrestal. A missile accidentally fired from a nearby plane struck the fuel tanks on John’s plane and created a deadly inferno aboard the ship. John barely escaped the fiery disaster that killed 134 men, injured hundreds more and destroyed 20 planes. John spent much of his time as a prisoner of war in solitary confinement, aided by his faith and the friendships of his fellow POWs. When he was finally released and able to return home years later, John continued his service by regaining his naval flight status.
Senator McCain’s last Navy duty assignment was to serve as the naval liaison to the United States Senate. John retired from the Navy in 1981. His naval honors include the Silver Star, Bronze Star, Legion of Merit, Purple Heart, and the Distinguished Flying Cross. Today John McCain’s lifestyle is extremely different, Senator McCain now has seven children and four grandchildren. McCain currently lives in Phoenix, Arizona with his wife Cindy.

My Opinions on these facts are:
1. Knowing where John McCain comes from is extremely important because it helps determine what moral values he has as well as what kind of person he is.
2. Understanding what McCain stands for is one of the most important, if not the most important reason to try to learn as much as we possibly can about his platform. How else would you be able to decide if you should vote for him or not?
3. Why should we vote McCain? Get Educated.
